ABOUT THE ROLE 

You will lead and support the planning, assessment and delivery of environmentally sustainable outcomes for a range of infrastructure, urban development and natural resource projects across Central Queensland; working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders and government agencies to prepare and review environmental planning documents in compliance with local, state and federal legislation. 

YOUR ROLE IN ACTION 

• Lead and manage the preparation of environmental impact assessments, environmental management plans and compliance documentation under Queensland and Commonwealth legislation. 

• Provide strategic planning advice to clients, project teams and executives. 

• Conduct site assessments, constraints analysis and due diligence for proposed developments. 

• Manage engagement with regulators, local governments, Traditional Owners, and community stakeholders. 

• Mentor and support junior planning and environmental staff. 

• Contribute to the preparation of tender proposals, business development and client relationship management. 

• Ensure environmental planning deliverables meet project timelines, budgets and quality standards. 

• Keep up to date with legislative and policy changes relevant to planning and environmental management in Queensland. 

SUCCESS FACTORS 

• Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, or a related discipline. 

• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in environmental planning and assessment. 

• Demonstrated knowledge of Queensland and Commonwealth environmental legislation and statutory processes. 

• Proven experience in statutory and environmental planning, environmental management, site management, compliance monitoring and reporting and impact assessment. 

• Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder engagement abilities. 

• Strong client relationships and business development skills. 

• Flexibility to travel and undertake fieldwork when required. 

It’s a plus if you have experience in infrastructure, mining, energy or major development sectors.
