The Behaviour Change Facilitator role is to assist the Senior Facilitator in the day-to-day operations of the Perpetrator Intervention Programs operated by Catholic Care as part of the DFV Response Service. The role will ensure a compliant, quality, client-centered service is provided in accordance with the current contract, as well as operating within a practice framework that prioritizes victim safety and incorporates appropriate information sharing and victim advocacy as strategies to achieve this goal. The role will cover work across the Central and Western Queensland region and will actively participate in and contribute to local, integrated response to domestic and family violence including government and non-government agencies.
Key aspects of this role include:
• Behavioural change counselling with perpetrators of Domestic and Family Violence with a focus on Intimate Partner Violence, addictions, mental health and other relevant presenting co morbidities, with referrals to appropriate services to address domestic violence intersections.
• Assist in the Development, planning, and implementation of psycho-educational programs based on evidence-based practice with a primary focus on risk to families and individuals affected, and or perpetrating domestic and family violence.
• Deliver the Men’s Behaviour Change Program in regional areas, with fortnightly travel to Emerald and monthly travel to Longreach.
• Support aggrieved and respondent males at the Rockhampton and Yeppoon courthouse.
All of which must be delivered within current Domestic and Family Violence practice standards and CatholicCare Central Queensland’s policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
The successful applicant must meet at least one of the following three criteria:
- domestic, family, or sexual violence
- criminal justice, including corrections
- child protection
- human services, including mental health, alcohol and other drug services and gambling support
- counselling
- or related field

An Intermediate Facilitator must have: observed a minimum of 32 hours of perpetrator intervention group work Program guidelines and requirements and at
least one of the following three criteria:
1. experience facilitating a minimum of 64 hours of perpetrator intervention group work; or
2. experience facilitating a minimum of 32 hours of perpetrator intervention group
work and experience facilitating a minimum of 32 hours of relevant group work working with clients with complex and diverse needs; or
3. experience facilitating a minimum of 64 hours of relevant group work working with clients with complex and diverse needs.

Must have the qualifications and experience outlined by the Queensland Government in relation to Perpetrator Intervention Services.
Must have the ability to travel frequently.
